Young Africa Works project

Project

Young Africa Works Project
In 2019, with funding from the MasterCard Foundation through Kawacom Uganda Limited, COLEIN AID implemented the Young Africa Works project aimed at enhancing the production and marketing of specialized and certified coffee. The project focused on creating youth employment opportunities through the adoption of Voluntary Coffee Sustainability Standards. As a result, 70% of the active youth participants were female, and 30% were male. A total of 300 youth, organized into 30 groups, were trained in sustainable agricultural practices, specifically focusing on coffee production and marketing. This initiative contributed to improving livelihoods and creating long-term economic opportunities for the youth in the region.

Empowering youth through sustainable agriculture not only transforms communities but also fosters a brighter, more equitable future for all.
