About COLEIN AID

COLEIN AID, P.O, Box 630029 Paidha Uganda is a registered youth-led Non-Governmental Organization operating in Uganda Registration No. INDR167916282NB (hereinafter referred to as “the Organization”). 

Founded in 2017, the organization works across Uganda to strengthen climate resilience, promote conservation education, advance social justice, and empower rural communities economically.

Strategically located in the biodiversity-rich Albertine Corridor, near Murchison Falls National Park and along the Albert Nile ecosystem, COLEIN AID integrates environmental conservation, ecotourism promotion, and sustainable livelihoods to build self-reliant communities.

Resilience and adaptive capacities to climate change and environmental degradation:

To support conservation and ecotourism through safeguarding, protection of biodiversity and build resilience of community affected.

GIRLS GET EQUAL project

The Girls Get Equal (GGE) project empowers communities to end child early and forced marriages, keeping girls in school and promoting gender equality.

Her Choice Her Right Project

Promotes sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR) and combats gender-based violence to ensure equal opportunities for women and girls.

Gender Equality

We champion gender equality and social justice by empowering women and youth, ending harmful practices, and advocating for their rights.

Education

We empower communities through education, fostering knowledge, skills, and opportunities for a brighter and sustainable future.

Civil society organisation capacity strengthening programs under taken by colein aid over the past 5 years as a lead Partner

In 2021 COLEIN AID in a peer led approach led and support the process for the development of Children and Young people safeguarding policy of 13 Community Based Organizations (CBOs) in Nebbi, Pakwach, Zombo and Adjumani District selected to implement Girls Get Equal Project with support from Plan International Uganda

In 2024, with Funding from Plan International, COLEIN AID supported 2 CBOs and Alur Kingdom to develop their 5 years strategic Plan as a lead partner as evidence of COLEIN AID capacity to be entrusted with responsibility

COLEIN AID is currently the Host to Zombo District NGO forum. The Organization serves as secretariat to the initiation of the Zombo District NGO forum. With the Support from Plan International Uganda, COLEIN AID organizes quarterly CSO coordination meetings aimed at formalizing the functional District NGO forum and strengthened advocacy platform. This has given COLEIN AID a strategic coordination advantage as a development partner in Zombo District.

COLEIN AID is also currently serving as the Northern Uganda Regional Hosting organization for Youth Climate Council (YCC) a global Network of Young People in Climate Movement. The YCC is hosted by the Green Africa Youth Organization (GAYO-Uganda) and National Youth Council to implement a project aimed at meaningful youth participation in climate decision making process. This project is implemented in partnership with 13 Youth- led organization in West Nile (One per District)

Result achieved

  • Strengthened network of youth leaders and organizations committed to climate action.
  • Increased awareness and understanding of climate change issues and policies among youth.
  • Concrete action plans and regional position paper as collaborative effort developed
  • Policy recommendations and advocacy strategies presented to regional and national authorities.
  • Launched of Youth Climate Council and Local Conference of Youths (LCOY) in West Nile region.
